Diary of Carter H. Harrison, 1834-1835.

Describes life at Dalmont plantation, Albemarle County, Va., upon Carter H. Harrison's move to the estate in 1834, including political discussions, church services, social activities with the members of the Jefferson and Randolph families and an account of his son Henry's horseback riding accident. Collection also includes an updated fragment of observations on Mississippi's right to regulate her slave trade. 3226-b is a printed request, 1854, of William Maxwell, agent for the Virginia Historical Society, to an unnamed individual for a $5 annual member's contribution.
